macOS says the app cannot be verified. What now?

The app is signed but not notarized. Right-click NotchIsland.app and choose Open, or go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. You only do this once.

Does it work with YouTube in the browser?

Yes. NotchIsland reads the system Now Playing information, so anything macOS shows in Control Center appears in the notch – Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube in Chrome or Safari, podcasts.

Q: Which Macs does it support?

Any Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or newer. The full effect needs a MacBook with a notch (Pro 2021+, Air 2022+); on other Macs a small island is drawn below the top edge.

Q: Does it send my data anywhere?

No. There is no account and no server. Data stays on your Mac. Network requests go only to the public services you use (transit data, weather, your school's Bakaláři server).

NotchIsland turns the camera cutout into a Dynamic Island. Hover to expand: music, files, live transit, your timetable, screenshots, clipboard, a timer and the weather.

Install in a minute

Download the latest NotchIsland DMG, open it and drag the app to Applications.

First launch: right-click NotchIsland.app → Open. macOS shows a warning because the app is not notarized; this happens only once.

Allow permissions when asked: Screen Recording (screenshots), Calendar, Location (weather), Accessibility (clipboard paste) and control of Spotify / Music. They are remembered.

Hover the notch. The app also adds itself to Login Items so it starts with your Mac (you can turn that off in Settings).

Which Macs are supported?

Right-click the app → Open, or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Once.

Does it see YouTube in the browser?

Yes. It reads the same Now Playing info macOS shows in Control Center, so Chrome, Safari, podcasts and every music app show up.

Screenshots come out black or the shortcut does nothing

Allow NotchIsland under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. If you run Shottr at the same time, it grabs the same shortcuts; quit it or change its keys.

Does it send my data anywhere?

No accounts, no servers. Requests go only to the public services you use: transit data, Open-Meteo weather, your school's Bakaláři server.

Can I hide modules I don't use?

Yes, Settings → Modules. Click a module to hide or show its tab.
